Pembrokeshire Harriers

Since 1970 Pembrokeshire has had an outstanding Athletics Club, "Cleddau
A.C". Its main founder member is a well-known Pembroke Solicitor Mr Huw
Morgan whose athletic prowess goes before him. The club trained athletes
mostly from the Pembroke area and Milford area, but also from further afield
parts of the county.

Walks in and around Neyland

There are several pleasant walks, short or long, some of which take in parts
of the Pembrokeshire National Parks.

Hazelbeach to Neyland Marina. - 2 miles.

The second walk starts alongside the "Ferry Inn" where our last walk
finished. We are still on the Coastal Path walking east from Hazelbeach
towards Llanstadwell with the river on our right. After approximately a half
a mile, we come to Llanstadwell Church This was built in the 13th century
and was visited by King Richard 11 on his way to Ireland. The river channel
is such that when the ferry travels in and out of port, it travels on the
northern side of the river, and towers over everyone when passing. Indeed
visitors to the vicarage at Llanstadwell are often startled by the darkening
of the view, even on a sunny day, with the ferry sailing very close to the
north shore, blotting out much of the sunlight.

The Wildlife in and around Neyland

The Town of Neyland has maintained and created in its development areas, in
and around the town a wide variety of wildlife. Most notable in its "green"
development is the establishment of the West Wales Wildlife Trust's
Westfield Pill Nature Reserve.

University of the UA3

The U3A is an organisation founded to promote the sharing of the many
educational, creative and leisure pursuits of its members with a view to
enhancing their mutual enjoyment of life. It is a university in the original
sense of the word, being a gathering of people devoted to learning.
