PAUL SARTORI FOUNDATION – PEMBROKESHIRE HOSPICE AT HOME Registered Charity 510379
Paul Sartori Foundation commemorated 25 years of providing Hospice care to the people of Pembrokeshire in 2007.
From the idea of a Catholic Priest, Father Paul Satori who died in 1980, the Hospice at Home Service began its life in 1982 with a handful of carers.
Now there are a mixture of 34 salaried qualified nurses and health care assistants all dedicated to providing support to the terminally ill.
The charity relies upon fund raising activities to ensure that enough income is raised to deliver a service.
There are 4 charity shops all staffed by hardworking volunteers which contribute a significant amount of funds.
So many individuals, businesses and community groups have supported the work of Paul Sartori over the past 25 years.
Special beds and mattresses have been purchased through donations and are loaned on a regular basis, commodes, besides tables and numerous other pieces of equipment have been purchased through the generosity of the people of Pembrokeshire and added greatly to the quality of life of the terminally ill and their families.
We are a local charity set up by local people – we are not part of a national organization, we plan and deliver our services according to local need.
We respond as rapidly as possible to enable people to be cared for in their own home environment.
We are looking forward to the next 25 years and we hope to develop our services so that even more people can benefit from our care.
Our prime aim is to provide Hospice Care but without funds we would be unable to do this.
More than ever the Paul Sartori Foundation needs continued support, without local help it will be impossible for Hospice care to be delivered for the next 25 years.
Any offers of help are much appreciated. More information: Lorna Johns Tel No: 01437 763223E Mail: lorna@paulsartori.wales.org
