Environment Group

Neyland Environment Group

A small band of like minded people decided that if Environment Issues in their community were to be addressed a Group would have to be established if anything were to be achieved.

So the “Neyland Environment Group evolved”

For the first Environment project a small piece of neglected land as chosen at the bottom of St Clements Road, Neyland.

We applied for and were successful in obtaining funding for the project.

We wanted the project to be Community led, so we contacted the Prince’s Trust to involve youngsters from the Trust, the Neyland Youth Forum worker and our local Youth Leader and members of the Youth Club.

The project involved Mosaic Work and a Nature theme was chosen.

Workshops were held over two days and children of the town were also involved, an Artist was engaged to oversee and guide the project and finally install the finished Mosaic Tiles on the chosen site.

The Group has also worked with the local County Council maintenance team on trimming back and revamping the “green” area at the front of Cambrian Road, Neyland.

We also acquired 6 assorted trees which were offered to us by the National Park free of charge which have now been placed around the “green” area on Honeyborough Green

Further projects are in the pipeline, and anyone wishing to join the group should contact:
