Brunel Association

At the Annual General Meeting of the Brunel Association in Neyland, held on Wednesday 18th January 2008, the following officials were appointed: (Seafair-Haven Neyland Yacht Club)

Chairman: Mr. Gareth Hopkins
Vice Chairman: C C Mr. Ken Edwards
Treasurer: Mr. Philip Walker

In the coming months various events are planned, as follows:

1.Saturday 5th April 2008 – Grand Concert at Bethesda Chapel High Street, Neyland – 7.00.p.m. – with Neyland Ladies Choir, Pembroke & District Male Voice Choir, and Mr Bryan Hoey, illustrious Dublin Tenor – fund raising in aid of both choirs and the Association

2.Space to Create – Sculpture Project.

3.Great Eastern Commemoration of 150 years since launch of this great ship.

4.Brunel Week in July.

5.Sea Fair Haven Event on Waterway in June – contribution from Neyland based at Neyland Yacht Club, with assistance from Brunel Association.

6.PLANED Competition Fireworks Display, last week of September – providing assistance in its organization.

Anyone wishing to join the Association is more than welcome – simply contact one of the officials or members.

In 2006, to commemorate the 200 year’s anniversary of Brunel’s birth, a web-site, www.brunel2006.info was created courtesy of funding from Dragon LNG, and visitors to this web-site will be amazed at the influence Isambard Kingdom Brunel still has on the daily lives on people not just in the UK, but throughout the world.
