Worship

The Churches Together in Milford is made up of most of the denominations
who have representatives in the town.

Meetings are held monthly to discuss matters of faith and social issues.
Affiliated to the national body of Churches Together in Wales, it is
committed to its Statement of Faith which is to unite those churches
who confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour, and to proclaim
the Gospel by common witness and service to the world.

The group focuses attention not only on Third World issues, involving
Christian Aid and Cafod, but also actively participates in local issues
involving P.A.S.H.(Pembrokeshire Action for Single Homeless), Objective One
Action Group, Town Audit, and the Haven Credit Union.

A Seaman’s Version of the Twenty-third Psalm

The Lord is my pilot, I shall not drift
He Lighteth me across the dark waters
He steereth me in steep channels
He keepeth my log book
He guideth me by the star of Holiness
For His Name’s sake
Yea, though I sail`mid the thunders and tempests of life,
I will dread no danger, for thou art with me,
Thy love and Thy care, they shelter me.
Thou preparest a harbour before me in the homeland of
eternity.
Thou
anointed the waves with oil - my ship rideth calmly.
Surely sunlight and starlight shall favour me on the journey I take,
And I will rest in the port of my God for ever.

The Quaker Meeting House in Priory Rd was built in 1811 by Quaker Whalers from Nantucket. They came to Milford in 1792 to help in the founding of the town; the typical American steeet grid system is a reminder of their influence (beneficial in many other ways!). The Meeting House is sometimes included in walking tours of the town

Friends travel from all over Pembrokeshire to attend meetings.

I know God won't give me more than I can handle,
but there are times I wish He didn't trust me with quite so much
