VARIETY CLUB CHILDREN'S CHARITY Funding sick, disabled and disadvantaged children
|
The roots of the Variety Club of Great Britain go back to 1927 when, in Pittsburgh, United States, a group of 11 men - all friends - and involved in show business set up a social club. They rented a small room in the William Penn Hotel for their new club, which they named the Variety Club, as all its members were drawn from various branches of the show business world.

VIRTUAL FOUNDATION Community improvement projects world wide in field of environment, health, and sustainable development.
|
The Virtual Foundation is a unique online philanthropy program which supports grassroots initiatives around the world. Carefully screened community improvement projects in the fields of environment, health and sustainable economic activity are posted on our web site. They can be read and funded by online donors.
It enables community organisations in many countries to partner with funders in an international exchange. It allows donors to form long-lasting partnerships with the groups they support. Through a network of Consortium Members in different countries, it provides a mechanism through which individuals, groups and organisations, and family foundations can securely engage in international philanthropy, and thus contribute to a global civil society.(Photo: Building Lorena Stoves in Nicaragua)
