CARERS
Provides respite for carers

3H Fund organises subsidised group holidays for physically disabled children and adults with the support of volunteer helpers so that in parallel the family carers can have a separate and much needed period of respite.
In addition, when funds are available, 3H Fund provides grants to families on low income with a physically or mentally disabled dependant to have a modest UK holiday break.

THE GRANT MAKING FOUNDATION
Aims to do permanent good in the world

Carnegie Corporation of New York was created by Andrew Carnegie in 1911 to promote "the advancement and diffusion of knowledge and understanding." Under Carnegie's will, grants must benefit the people of the United States, although up to 7.4 percent of the funds may be used for the same purpose in countries that are or have been members of the British Commonwealth, with a current emphasis on Commonwealth Africa. As a grantmaking foundation, the Corporation seeks to carry out Carnegie's vision of philanthropy, which he said should aim "to do real and permanent good in this world."

THE CARNEGIE UNITED KINGDOM TRUST
To enhance capacity of creativity and imagination in groups of people

Andrew Carnegie gave £2 million to create the UK Trust, which bears his name. Through wise investments, grants of more than £24 million have been made over the last 87 years for, among other things, opening public libraries, providing church organs, developing village halls and supporting community needs in the arts, heritage and social welfare.

CHILDREN'S LIVER DISEASE FOUNDATION
Provides information on Liver Disease

In 1980, the Children's Liver Disease Foundation was the first charity to be established concerned with liver disease. Today it leads the field in caring for babies and children with liver disease and their families by:

giving emotional support to children, teenagers and families afflicted by liver disease
promoting research into the causes of childhood liver disease
developing means of an early diagnosis and cure
providing new facilities and trained staff
creating a greater awareness of paediatric liver disease by education of healthcare professionals and the public

The Civil Service Benevolent Fund is one of the largest occupational benevolent funds in the UK today, and the principal charity for Civil Service staff and their financial dependants.
Last year we awarded nearly £3.5 million to people who had nowhere else to turn in times of unforeseen misfortune. We aim to provide services which meet the changing needs of a modern Civil Service workforce, and those employed by the large number of Associated Organisations we also cover.
